Why I Play Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo's most iconic characters. He made his first appearance in the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong, where he played the role of a villain throwing barrels at Mario. Over time he's developed a bit of a heroic flair in games like Donkey Kong Country, where he protects his jungle and bananas from King K. Rool.
In Super Smash Bros, Donkey Kong is a high-risk high-reward character. His strong moves and combos give him amazing damage and killpower, but his large size leaves him highly vulnerable.
I enjoy playing him because of his simple moveset. All of his moves are strong and do a lot of damage, so you don't need to string together long combos to do well with him. For someone of his size, he's surprisingly fast. And his giant punch is also super satisfying to land!
